MRR Discount Amount
The revenue you chose not to collect — the mirror image of MRR, and just as worth measuring.
What is it?
MRR Discount Amount is the total value of discounts applied to your subscriptions, normalised to a monthly figure. It is the revenue you chose not to collect — the mirror image of your MRR, and just as worth measuring.
Discounts are invisible in a headline MRR number, which shows what customers pay, not what they would have. Tracking the discount amount surfaces how much list-price revenue you are giving away to win and keep customers.
How to calculate?
Sum the monthly-normalised discount applied across all active subscriptions. Fifteen hundred dollars of monthly discount is fifteen hundred of MRR forgone every month. Use the same normalisation as MRR so the two reconcile.
Read it as a percentage of gross MRR: a rising discount share means your effective pricing is drifting below list, which shapes both revenue and how you should think about list price itself.
